Hi! :) I get asked a few lightening questions every now and then and I don’t mind at all! I have never used any products with hydroquinone, but from my understanding, it is an incredibly effective chemical, but has a lot of risky and potentially dangerous side effects.
My favorite skin lightening expert (Mileena from All About Skin Lightening) has this to say about HQ (paraphrased here): HQ works great on localized areas (such as acne marks, melasma patches, etc.), but all-over use as well as use for longer than 6 months is discouraged, because not only does it have carcinogenic properties, but it also has the potential to damage your skin’s collagen fibers.
I haven’t used any HQ products because of this, but I also have extremely sensitive skin (hoorayyy for being born with eczema!), and harsh products and I don’t get along well. :(
Here’s some more detailed info on Hydroquinone from Mileena herself:

Good luck! :)
Reblog this if you have ever been called ugly.
