1:38am and I should be going to bed, but instead I’m finishing up the sketch for this!  I think this might end up being the cover for the mafia comic my brother and I are working on.  I am so incredibly proud of the faces!! Hands down the best faces I’ve drawn yet.  (Especially the King and Louie’s!) Clockwise from top: Enzo Giordanengo, the King of Diamonds: head of the family (“house”)/don.  In his late-forties.  Under immense stress from the sudden death of his eldest son (the Jack of Diamonds) who he’d been priming for years to become the next don. He’s also under increasing pressure from both the police and the rival gang. Louie “Four Fingers” Cabella, the Four of Clubs: house enforcer, the King’s right hand man.  In his mid-to late-thirties.  Loyal, unquestioning - he was once a made man, but he’s come out of “retirement” (for reasons that shall be revealed!!) and now he’s back in the game.  I’d tell you how he got his nickname, but that’d be giving too much away!   Casino “The Brat” Giordanengo, the Jack of Spades. In his early- mid- twenties.  Recently promoted from Ace to Jack with the death of his older brother, he’s now next in line to become don.  Cocky, arrogant, “Starscream conniving”, cowardly.  The entire house calls him “The Brat” behind his back; unsure if he’s aware of this or not. Sonia Giordanengo, the Queen of Hearts.  Wife to Enzo and mother of Casino and Casino’s as of yet unnamed brother.  She’s compassionate and level-headed, but has an ambiguous endgame… The stage is set! The characters are here! IT’S TIME TO START THE SHOW! (…that’s a total lie, I still have to design allll the Chinese triad guys from the rival gang, WAH.  As well as some hookers.  Because of course there’s hookers on the first page, THANKS RYAN)
